Quentin Tarantino has bee discussing the Marvel Cinematic Universe films as the most recent effort, Avengers: Endgame, dominates the box office.

The MCU films, a series of American superhero films produced by Marvel Studios and based on characters that appear in the iconic Marvel Comics,  is the highest-grossing film franchise of all time, having grossed over $21.3 billion at the global box office through their 22 films.  

Tarantino, a man who knows a thing or two about record breaking box office films, admitted that he is trying to work his way through the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the hyper around the recent release.

“I haven’t been keeping up to date with them for, I guess, the last four years,” Tarantino admitted during an interview with Empire Magazine. “I think the only comic book movies I saw last year at theatres were Wonder Woman and Black Panther.”

He added, “I just finished Captain America: Civil War, so next up is Doctor Strange.”

Trying to detail his favourite film so far, Tarantino knew exactly where to start: “Actually, the last one I saw was [Thor:] Ragnarok,” he explained. “I loved it. It was my favourite one of the series since The Avengers – drastically my favourite.”

Thor: Ragnarok was released in 2017 and directed by Taika Waititi. The cast, not short of leading names, included the likes of  Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo, and Anthony Hopkins.

The film was a critical and commercial success, earning more than $854 million at box office and became the highest-grossing film of the trilogy.
